Rinnai Wins the Large-sized Equipment Packaging Award in the Japan Packaging Contest 2012

Rinnai was awarded the Large-sized Equipment Packaging Category Award in the Japan Packaging Contest 2012 organized by Japan packaging Institute for the environmentally-friendly package of the hybrid hot-water/heating system, ECO ONE.

The “environmentally-friendly package of the hybrid hot-water/heating system, ECO ONE” replaced wooden blocks and foam polystyrene packages that were used for large, long, or heavy products with recyclable cardboards for all elements, which has contributed to achieving the environmentally-friendly package style. Furthermore, this package demonstrates the product protection quality at equivalent level to the wooden blocks in addition to the reduced packaging material types and higher packaging efficiency. These improvements have enabled to keep products lay horizontally during short-distance transportation.

This is the most influential contest in the packaging industry in Japan, aiming to promote development and distribution of high quality package techniques. The contest is intended to select the year’s best packages in the following industries in a broad range of functions such as materials, design, technology, design, logistics, S/P, packaging ideas, environmental issues,

appropriate packaging, etc.: Food, pharmaceutical and medical, cosmetics, electric equipment, daily necessities and general merchandise. All prize-winning packages will be permitted to use the GP mark representing their excellent quality.
This year, the contest selected 13 Japan Star Awards and 37 Good Packaging Awards among 320 applicants.
